CTRL Government Solutions: Air Force

The CTRL UL101 is an integral tool for aviation maintenance including leak detection, cabin pressure, and identifying internal defects. The UL101 can also be used to detect leaks in inflatables.

The UL101 was tested and approved by Robins Air Force Base and others for various platforms and support equipment. Implementation is under way for ground support, training, and more.

Implementation

CTRL ultrasound technology has been identified as a replacement for older ultrasound technology due to its ease of use and performance. Whereas older ultrasound devices were not as effective and required 2 person operation for testing on aircraft, the UL101 was capable to detect problems quickly, decrease man-hours, and man usage. The designated kit for aviation testing is p/n 000038, the intrinsically safe air audit kit.

• F-16: The UL101 was tested by engineers at Robins Air Force Base. SERD GD 51508 was written. Implementation for ground support at the various bases in on-going.

Applications

Survival Equipment - Since 2005 - The U.S. Air Force approved the use of the UL101 for Survival Equipment Shops to use in the field to inspect a variety of flotation equipment.
