Overview

CTRL Systems designs ultrasound detectors for leak detection and numerous other applications. CTRL designed the Leak Detector App to provide you the opportunity to experience what it would be like to use an ultrasound detector to find compressed air & gas leaks.

The Leak Detector App for your Android phone utilizes your phone's built in microphone to listen for high frequency sound in a narrow band around 20 kHz, then plays it back at lower frequencies.

Use & Operation

  1. Click "Listen". 
  2. Adjust the sensitivity up/down, depending upon your needs and environmental noise level
  3. Click "Stop"

Limitations

The Leak Detector App is limited by the hardware in your phone. Do not expect the same results in sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, quality of sound, etc. that you would expect in the CTRL UL101. This app is designed to provide you with the opportunity to experience a very scaled down version of what it would be like to use an ultrasound detector to find leaks in a noisy environment.
