CTRL Government Solutions: Navy

CTRL technology has been evaluated by various engineering groups so that ultrasound may be used by maintenance personnel to determine the material condition of selected equipment and systems. The ultrasound has proved successful and significantly improving the maintenance practices for a variety of fleet applications.

Implementation of CTRL ultrasound technology into fleet operations for over 100 PMS activities realizes a significant reduction in man-hours and improvement in readiness.

Implementation

Fleet-Wide

CTRL ultrasound technology is recommended for fleet-wide implementation for condition based monitoring, leak detection, and more to augment PMS and to replace selected, current tools such as stethoscopes, chalk-test, soap suds, and leak detectors.

  • Product distribution for replacement of older technologies, as a diagnostic tool, as a first line of defense in assessing rotating equipment and internal evaluation
  • Update PMS activities to reflect new procedures and tests carried out by CTRL technology
  • Update NSTMs and assessment references to include CTRL technology
  • Develop training programs such as computer based training (cbt) detailing specific procedures and testing methods
Aviation

CTRL ultrasound technology has been identified as a replacement for older ultrasound technology due to its ease of use and performance. Whereas older ultrasound devices were not as effective and required 2 person operation for testing on aircraft, the UL101 was capable to detect problems quickly, decrease man-hours, and man usage.
