MEMS-Microfluidics TechnologyMicro Electric Mechanical Systems (MEMS) is the integration of mechanical elements, sensors, actuators, & electronics to realize new systems on micro, meso, and nano scale levels to achieve benefits such as affordability, functionality, and performance. Such miniaturization has led to the development of new technologies including those proposed by CTRL Systems. JPHA - Jet Pneumatic-Hydraulic Amplifier ConverterTechnology developed by CTRL to overcome new challenges imposed by the MEMS industry to further enhance miniaturization. In addition, different embodiments of JPHA allow for the single stage conversion low power output signals of microfluidic platforms into high power input signals to control units of hydraulic and pneumatic drives. AMCThis article discusses the challenges imposed by today's MEMS industries as the result of miniaturization and proposes a solution, its benefits and applications. MiniaturizationSummary of the patent pending method of fluid flow handling for converting and amplifying a weak main hydraulic signal and auxiliary pneumatic signal into an enhanced hydraulic signal. |
