CTRL Systems, Inc. (Westminster, Maryland) - CTRL Systems continues its strategy of frequent and simultaneous product improvements and additional options. The CTRL UL101* Revision D, a family line of selectable length Solid Probes, and a Belt Pouch are now available as part of the CTRL UL101 ultrasonic inspection kit.
The CTRL UL101 (UL101) is a handheld, non-destructive inspection sensor, which utilizes ultrasonic technology for predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, safety, and quality control. The UL101 Receiver, the primary component in the system, detects and converts ultrasound into easily recognizable sounds within the human range of hearing and supplies output to a headset, as well as to an analog meter. The CTRL UL101, Revision D, has increased sensitivity, a new battery life indicator, and several manufacturing upgrades.
The new selectable length Solid Probes make inspection, testing and diagnosis more convenient for internal evaluation of gears, bearings, steam traps, valve seats, fluid flow, hydraulic components, etc. The Solid Probes provide heightened sensitivity, a finer clarity, increased reduction of competing noise, and are part of a "Full-Family" approach. Different lengths allow access to difficult-to-reach locations. By using the Solid Probes, you listen to only the vibration of metal in and around the component under test. You will be ignoring any airborne ultrasound - which can produce ultrasound a hundred times more intense in the air than a bearing or gearbox, so the solid probes provide a great benefit.
The Belt Pouch makes it convenient for the mechanic or technician to carry the UL101 with him. It can hold the UL101 Receiver, UT2000 Transmitter, the headset, and several attachments.
As always, CTRL is maintaining and improving the simplicity of operation so that each mechanic or maintenance technician can immediately benefit. With these announcements, CTRL is continuing to develop its vision to make ultrasound inspection, testing and diagnosis part of the daily activities of all mechanics and maintenance technicians. In doing so, they will save countless hours of troubleshooting time, make accurate diagnoses and therefore make the correct repairs the first time, and have the perfect tool to verify the integrity of their own repairs before re-assembly.
* The CTRL UL101 was previously marketed as the ULTRAPHONIC 101.
